Road side bike art on the country roads of the Flint Hills.

Day 28: Kansas has hills! We climbed almost 4,000 feet today through the Flint Hills. Overcast, humid, and comfortable temperatures. The roads were perfect, little traffic and smooth. This was the type of back roads travel I hope we get for the rest of the trip. As we entered the town of White City they were preparing for their annual 4th of July parade. The towns people were lining the road and the parade participants were gathering by the town park were we had our 1st SAG stop of the day. I started to get in the spirit of the summer holiday. Phil Young, John Hurley and I rode together today and we arrived in Topeka in time for our daily milk shake. Tomorrow we head to St. Joseph, MO and a welcomed rest day. Happy 4th of July!
