Day 5 treated us to a cool and sunny morning with a departure temp. of 38 degrees. We had beautiful mountain climbs, a great bike path from Squaw Valley along a river into Tahoe City. We stopped at a local bakery for donuts and 
coffee, the mid-morning snack of champs. The views of Lake Tahoe and surrounding mountains made it hard to leave knowing we were heading into Nevada. The 6 mile climb up to the top of Rose Mtn was great climb 6%-8% with a 16 mile screaming downhill with lots of turns, got up to 38 mph. City riding into Sparks, NV with a couple of stops at bike shops just to see if there was anything can't do with out. It's fun to meet people along the way, most seem surprised when we tell them we are riding coast to coast, but very encouraging. Hot tub, lots of pasta and carbs for tomorrow which will be our biggest day yet.
