The Great Salt Lake
Wind gusts on the way to SLC
Long road ahead
Day 11, was a mixture of the good the bad and the ugly! 2nd leg of a double century, 120 miles today. The sunrise leaving the great state of Nevade was awesome. The sunlight on the salt plains and the view of the Bonneyville Speedway was amazing. We weren't setting any land speed records, but we enjoyed the view. Mother nature served up a health serving of wind today. We had tail winds, cross winds and head winds, sometime all at the same time. Today was a first, the cross winds exceed 50+ mpg at one point I had to get off and walk my bike. EFI!!! Coming into Salt Lake City we had a tail wind the pushed speeds up over 40 mph. That's fast on skinny bike tires. Average speed for the 120 miles today was 18.1. A much needed rest day tomorrow. Rest, eat, eat, eat and some sight seeing.
